Please read this following article, which was featured in "The Herald" to learn the proud owners story behind this home.

"I look at what he has achieved, and I just couldn't be any more proud. Not once did he ever think to cut corners or do it the easy way. He is a perfectionist in all that he does. A lot of tradespeople would come in to measure things up and they all said they had never seen a house built so straight and accurate."
That's how Wendy Keir describes the Matamata house her husband Alex built for them.
The couple's inspiration was the incredible north facing views of the ranges and the handy location.

"We love the rural lifestyle. We spend our time going on all the local bush walks and with the lake, rivers and the beach so close we are always heading to the water in the weekends."
Wendy and Alex wanted a modern home, but with traditional touches such as the gable end roof, wall panelling and white appearance, it went well with the almost English landscape setting. The inspiration for the white exterior came from their love of Swedish homes.
"It's a bold fresh statement. We were tired of seeing the same old colours being used in new group home builds in the area. We love the look of the house as you see it from the road, it is like a fresh shining light on the hill."
When you walk into the house you are hit with majestic views through the large sliders. Special features include the Hinuera stone entrance and Ha-Ha, German kitchen and scullery and French oak flooring.
"The large kitchen is an amazing space to work in and we can't get enough of the covered deck area, which is where we love to entertain family and friends. We love spending time with our daughter, playing and having the large expansive lawn area. She loves to feed our highland cattle in the paddock."
The house is Linea and plaster over brick and block. It is exactly North facing and has open plan living. Alex has made sure it is up-speced in all areas such as insulation and structure.
"If you could see the bones of this house, it is built double strength, if it only needed one nail, he put three! The end result means he can walk away and sleep well at night knowing this house was built perfectly for one lucky family, and can say if looked after this house will look as good as the day it was built." Wendy says.
"When we planned to build, it was to be our forever home. Because of this we built a home that would suit us in our lives today but also at every other stage in our life as we got older. So really this house will suit all kinds of families at different stages in their life.
This is a home ideal for anyone wanting the feel of space and freedom but still wanting to be close to great schools, towns or within commuting distance.
"We have loved the community and being so close to many places but also having our little space of freedom."
For Wendy and Alex the time is now right to move closer to family back down in Canterbury and continue more of the dreams they have planned.
"Our wish is to sell to a family that loves this home as much as we do, and see this is not just another group home and can appreciate the genuine passion and perfection gone into it."
